August 17, 2020

Buildings 2-5 on the Bay High School campus that previously houses classrooms and science laboratories and were heavily damaged by Hurricane Michael will be demolished to make space for the new construction of the Barbara W. Nelson Fine Arts Center.

This 23,500 square foot facility will be located on the corner of 13th Street and Harrison Avenue.   This facility is designed to reflect the historic presence of the original high school with a front-wrap raised porch as an event area extension of the Gallery.  This facility will include:  Visual Arts Gallery/Reception & Concession Area; 700-Seat Audience Chamber; Stage & Wing Space; Drama Laboratory/Classroom; Green Room & Changing Areas and other support spaces.
